Good evening everyone. So, recently we have had some new arrivals here at the Gamer's Pair O Dice studio. They are the Bounty Hunter retinue plus a Falconer, also part of his retinue, being painted to be used at Historicon 2017 and to be auctioned off soon after with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society, a Yu Huang I'm painting in exchange for some missile launcher pods from someone who went on a bits run to Ironwind Metals, and a lance of 'Mechs for a long time client. You will be getting better pictures and regular updates on all three as I work on them. Also, We are moving. Due to recent life events the studio will be leaving historic Fredericksburg and moving to somewhat historic Caroline County, famous for being the place John Wilkes Booth got killed and for being the place where one of the first interracial married couples were persecuted. Above is the cauldron born from the bounty hunter set, below the read more line you will find the rest of the pictures of the new arrivals. Until next time - CJ

We have finally finished the Blood Angels commission. We have also made progress on some projects and started some others. Hit Read More to see some finished and WiP pics as well. Hi everyone, this is CJ again with a follow-up to the 2013 Gencon Primitive Lance Pack Pre-Release. If you haven't seen it go over to youtube and check it out here. If you have this will give you a look at the new Mechs and my notes about their construction, look, and uses. The Youtube Video can also be found at the bottom of the post. Hi everyone. Recently there have been some big things going on with BattleTech. The biggest of them is the recent release of Alpha Strike. Alpha Strike is a refined version of Alpha Strike from the Strategic Operations core rule book. Additionally there are several recent releases which are very cool on the BattleTech miniatures front at Gencon this year. These releases are exciting to me as I prefer playing 2 eras and I wanted to let you know more. just hit Read more to see why. Yes. Goonies!!. In all honesty, this is more of a general update of what is going on in the studio. I don't have pictures of everything and I do apologize. I have pictures of most of it though. so. To start off the thing I don't have the pictures of are the Royal Black Watch who are currently in an olive drab primer coat but have gone no further. They will be a big part of my con games for next year. After that I have several minis awaiting paint on my shelf as well as some new arrivals which I do have some pictures. of. Hit read more to take a look. Good afternoon everyone. So. I'm back and I'm still alive and recovering from Historicon. I pretty much just want to share some pics and some experiences. I also need to let some people know how things are coming along. Of my three events I ran the 1st St Ives Lancers defeated the 29th Royal Dragoons, the players all had a good time bashing each other up in Chatham, and the Confederacy ost the ebattle of Chancellorsville. I also played in the Clan Grand Melee and finished 2nd to a good friend of mine, Wayne. I did use the Paraih B which is cheaty by its very nature. I think one day I will take a real Clan Mech, until then though..... Now though, on to the things I know you all are truly looking for, pics and updates on your stuff. So, the Jumping Atlas and Yen Lo Wang are finally done. There isn't too much to talk about on them... well on YLW. Pretty Much the model for YLW is a bone stock Centurion model with no modifications. Instead of running the sin and its beams off the middle of the chest I decided to run them off the right side where the gun arm is located for a more stylistic version of YLW. I plan on picking up a Centurion at Historicon this year to actually modify to resemble YLW and paint with a much higher level of detail. The Jumping Atlas is specifically a competition piece and will never see tabletop play because of its nature. It is intended for the Historicon Painting Competition and I am hoping it will win or place well. So, without any further a due click on Read More to see the pics, YLW and the Atlas, as a note YLW needs to be based properly.... Till next time - CJ this is just an update on some Historicon 'Mechs. the Jumping Atlas is mounted to the base, the turbine cones need finished as does the base and I need to do the smoke from the wing and the jets exhaust..... and stuff.... Yen Lo Wang just need based (I am showing WiP pics, finished pics when Atlas is done too). A full blown YLW conversion will likely be sometime this winter.... Enjoy the pics CJ Hey everyone. This is just an update at an ungodly hour to let you know what is going on here at the studio. I also have some pics included for your enjoyment. So far I am preparing minis for 1 event still and also have to finish getting all my terrain and props needed for another. So, read below if you want to know the chaos that is prep work for Historicon 2013. |
