I was recently reading the comments on another blog on the subject of miniatures modification and legality to play in certain game systems. Specifically about the WYSWYG model that Games Workshop has always pushed and something finally dawned on me. Why use Games Workshop models anymore anyway?

So, this past Weekend at the Game Vault we had a Deathclock event. I ended up having a great time for the most part and got to play against some casters I havent ever played against before. What can I say, I dont get out often. Anyway, I have summed up the matches and I think I learned some lessons. Yeah, you read that right. Games workshop has, in their grand wisdom, decided that the sale of "unpackaged product" is banned by their retailers. Online or otherwise. this decision will affect anyone who plays and uses bits companies to build their armies as well as companies like Spikey Bits, Battlewagon Bits, and various other companies. Why has Games workshop decided this? Well, they give several reasons which are listed below: This is what we woke up to this morning; snow. Lots of snow. We were supposed to be pickign up an army at abotu noon to be gin painting...... this has unfortunately been delayed. On that note though, we do have some interesting stuff coming into the studio as well as some models that are still waiting on paint and finish. |
