So, I started painting way back with BattleTech and then worked my way up to stuff like Warhammer 40k, Warmachine, Reaper, and so forth. Somethign though that I have noticed over time is that people all have differetn ways of painting thier armies full of little plastic and metal men. Coming from a BattleTech background I was used to playing what is essentially a skirmish game and only needed 3 or 4 'Mechs per faction. So I ended up with about 4-5 Mechs in each house and those eventually became companies over the course of many years. heck, even without the cross compatability I have 3 different Khador "Unit Schemes".

So, I did a tutorial for Spikey Bits for basing. For it I used a new Koldun Lord model that I bought at FTW Games in Richmond Virginia. I also painted u a Gorman Di Wulfe model. Both are from privateer Press' Warmachine line. I hoe you enjoy the pics below, and once the tutorial goes up online I hope you read and enjoy it. Until then, Enjoy the pics below. CJ Out Now that we have produced several blanks we have been working on some actual scenic resin bases. The first 3 series we are looking at producing are shale "Rocky Outcropping" bases, textured "Pre Flocked" bases and brick road "Herringbone" bases. We have produced the masters for the 20mm square and round bases and the 30mm round lipped bases. We have alos produced rapid prototypes of the round 25mm bases Below I have included pictures of the rapid prototypes. I plan on seeing how well they take paint and how they look compared to bases that I have flocked and painted by hand. Until next time - CJ Today, is a day that will live in infamy, or so I would like to think. Today, Gamer's Pair-O-Dice has begun pre-production of blank 25mm round and square bases and 30mm slotted round bases. While I doubt Games Workshop is shaking in its boots, we are proud of ourselves as we hope that this may lead to some local stores carrying our product. Below I am including some pics of the pre-production bases..... I really hope that everyone likes them, and hey, shoot us some ideas as far as what you woudl like to see for affordable resin bases. Until next time, CJ |
