I know its been a while since we've had an update, but we have been pretty busy and I just wanted to share what has been going on with you. We have finally finished the Blood Angels commission. We have also made progress on some projects and started some others. Hit Read More to see some finished and WiP pics as well.
Blood Angels Done!
The Blood Angels are finally finished. The models were a blast to paint. The models which gave us the most trouble were the Death Company models which have a ton of little detail bits that you just cant leave alone...... but otherwise they went well. The Assault Marines and the Death Co. both have their jump packs and backpacks magnetized allowing our client to switch back and forth freely without having to have both. The Dreadnought was also a lot of fun too as it has been magnetized to allow it to switch between the Furioso with 2 Blood Talons, Furioso Librarian, and Furioso with Frag Cannon, Blood Claw, and Melta. Finally the Storm Raven was an interesting build. It has some slight cosmetic mods (ie leaving off the canopy supports, c'mon, its the 31st Century) but is otherwise stock. In the cockpit I tried to give the controls a glow this is normally seen on modern aircraft HUDs and Multi-Function Displays.
Terrain O Rama
Due to a Convercence of Cyriss Event that will be going on at The Game Vault this October, I have been working on some terrain and have taken a liking to the idea of making some split rail fences.... yeah... Why split rail fences? Well, quite frankly the idea of a piece of terrain that could be seen as either difficult (40k) or as a linear obstacle while pot providing hard cover is an interesting concept to me as it is something that you don't normally see on the tabletop. Also the Power node was just too tempting to not pass up especially seeing as how the thing is soo simple to make yet sooo dominating when you compare it to other models.
Rise of the Royal Black Watch
One of the scenarios I plan on running at Historicon 2014 is the Last Stand of the Royal Black Watch. It is based on a scenario out of the old Northwind Highlanders scenario pack. I have run it before but have updated it even more since then with the addition of more Royal BattleMechs. I will be painting the Royal Black Watch tartan on each of the machines in different places using the tutorial which can be found on the Camospecs Online website. I highly recommend using COS as a resource and cant wait to compare my results to those from the CSO Team.
